Vulnerabilities: Cory is physically weak and is easily worn out by pretty much any form of physical activity. Cory also tends to overthink things which in turn can cause him massive amounts of stress - stress which could in some cases possibly lead to a complete mental shut down or an anxiety/panic attack depending on the level of stress.
Background: Cory grew up in District 8 and was the only child to parents Olivia, a designer and dressmaker, and father Samuel, who was a factory worker who had eventually moved up to a managerial position. They had a decent life, at least, from what Cory could remember of it. He remembered being happy and his father loved him and his mother very much, he would always say so and would shower them both with affection almost constantly. Which of course, they both loved. He couldn't remember ever being hungry then. Everything changed about a week before Cory's 10th birthday. A machine had malfunctioned in the factory Samuel ran. He was told that his father and four other workers had been working to fix it when it exploded, killing the five men instantly and injuring dozens of other workers in the area. It left Cory and his mother to make it on their own. Olivia could barely support the two of them, most of the time she could barely find it in herself to work as she was usually overcome with grief after the accident. Cory ended up entering the factories to help, which is how it had been ever since - barely scraping by - but at least they still had each other... until Olivia's name was drawn.

Personality: Timid. Quiet. Awkward. Submissive. Anxious. Polite. Gentle. Cautious. Calculating.
Cory has little to no self-esteem and is very hard on himself, especially when things don't come easily to him. He tends to psyche himself out of most things before even trying. When he does actually gives himself a chance to try new things, he is generally pretty quick to catch on after a few attempts. He loves to read and learn about new things. He also generally keeps to himself, preferring being alone over being in groups or trying to make friends for fear of rejection or making a fool of himself. He's very attached to his mother, she's his best friend and is the only person he can really relax and be himself around.
Goals: Stay alive and make it back home to his mother.
